Number 10: Teahupoo, in Tahití

This spot is known all around the world to be one of the most powerful and violent waves that you will ever find in your life. The wave breaks on a shallow coral reef that makes it even more frightening and , needless to say, to conquer this wave you need a very advanced level of surfing.

Number  9: Hossegor,  France

Now, without going far,  let’s stay in Europe and more precisely in Hossegor, France. This location is considered to be  the surfing capital of our continent. On this beach you can find mainly 3 surf breaks:  La Graviere, South and North. Here you will find waves for all levels, from easy slow rides for the more beginner surfers, to heavy barreling waves for the more advanced. Without a doubt Hossegor fully deserves a place on our list of the 10 best waves to surf in the world.

Number 8: Uluwatu, Indonesia

The beach of Uluwatu is located in a heavenly and pristine environment, surrounded by majestic cliffs. This is a very popular destination amongst the surfers of the whole world, so don’t be surprised to find a crowded line up when you visit it. But the good thing is that Uluwatu offers various different peaks, so it’s very common that more surfers ride different waves at the same time.

Number 7: Mundaka, in Spain

This one is quite close to us! Mundaka is considered the longest peeling left wave in all of Europe.  This wave, when the conditions are at its best, can reach a height of four and a half meters and can break for more than 500 meters. It’s a fast and powerful wave so make sure to have a high level of surfing before you try it out.

Number 6: Supertubos, Portugal

Supertubos, located in the Peniche region more or less at one hour and a half from Lisbon, is one of the most famous surf breaks of all Europe. In Fact here they host the yearly surf competition that is part of the world tour organized by the WSL. This is a very technical wave that when at the peak of its conditions produces heavy powerful tubes, just like the name suggests, and for this very reason we recommend this wave for the ones that have an experienced level of surfing, especially on the bigger days.

The top 5 of the 10 best beaches to surf in the world: Pipeline,  Hawaii

Let’s carry on our list and let’s head to the motherland of surfing! The Hawaiian islands, in particular the island of Oahu. Pipeline is one of the most powerful and feared waves of the planet. Here you can find very big and barreling waves that break on a very sharp reef very close to the shoreline. This makes a perfect spectacol for spectators that can admire the best surfers in the world riding this infamous wave.  Needless to say that this spot is recommended for very experienced surfers that don’t mind sharing the lineup with some of the most respected and fearless locals in the world.

Number 4: Gold Coast, in Australia

It’s well known that Australia is a country renowned for its surfing culture so it’s only normal that the Gold coast and its waves are part of the 10 best beaches to surf in the world.
